More than 4,000 running enthusiasts have already confirmed their participation in this year’s PKO Gdynia Half Marathon. The event will take place on the evening of April 26 and promises to impress both runners and spectators with a spectacular course and finish line experience.

The start of the PKO Gdynia Half Marathon is scheduled for 20:30. This means the first runners are expected to cross the finish line around 21:30, with the final participant expected to finish about 30 minutes before midnight.

The evening timing of the race ensures that traffic disruptions for drivers and Gdynia residents will be significantly less noticeable. Moreover, it gives organizers new opportunities to enhance the racecourse and finish line experience. Just like last year, PKO Gdynia Half Marathon aims to impress participants with a spectacular visual and musical setting.

All over the world, including in Poland, a new generation of young running enthusiasts is emerging. For them, it’s not just about the sporting aspect of the event but the entire experience surrounding it. We want the PKO Gdynia Half Marathon to meet these expectations and provide unforgettable moments. Mass running is, on one hand, a sport, but on the other – above all, entertainment!

Along the race course, cheering zones and special features will be set up to provide runners with an extra boost of energy as they conquer each kilometer. The planned attractions include:

  • Drummer group – around the 7 km mark, near Janka Wiśniewskiego Street;
  • Cheerleaders Gdynia and DJ – around the 12 km and 14 km marks, near Stryjska Street;
  • Music zone with a DJ – around the 18 km mark, near Piłsudskiego Avenue;

  • Fire Show: fire performance – around the 20 km mark, near the famous Gdynia fish monument;
  • Pathway lined with torches – on the final kilometer of the course, near Topolowa Avenue.

The grand finale of both the runners’ effort and the course’s spectacle will be the finish near ORP Błyskawica and Dar Pomorza. A finish line illuminated with colorful spotlights and lasers, accompanied by music and the loud cheers of the crowd, will make the final meters of the PKO Gdynia Half Marathon an unforgettable experience for everyone.

The PKO Gdynia Half Marathon, along with its accompanying events, will take place on the last weekend of April. On Saturday, April 26, the youngest runners will compete in the Frugo Kids Run, followed by the main half marathon race. On Sunday, April 27, the morning PKO Gdynia 5K will take place—a 5-kilometer run, with most of the route leading along the scenic Nadmorski Boulevard.

Registration for all these events is still open.
