The new Polish Champion completed the course in 1:03:35. The fastest woman, Aleksandra Lisowska, finished in 1:13:19. More than 10,000 athletes, including Poland’s top long-distance runners, competed on the half marathon course through the streets of Gdynia.
Adam Nowicki is an Olympian from Tokyo, a participant in the World Championships in Budapest, and a five-time Polish Champion in the marathon and half marathon. Nowicki had waited 6 years for the gold medal and the Polish Championship title in the half marathon. It seemed that the weather conditions might once again stand in his way.
This is Gdynia, this is the sea. Sometimes it is like that here. From the very beginning, I followed my plan. I wanted to become the Polish champion, and it is only a pity that there was no direct competition on the course. I felt good during the race today and I could have fought for an even better time.
Adam Nowicki – Polish Half Marathon Champion 2026
The women’s race unfolded in a completely different way. For a long time, a group of four of the strongest Polish runners stayed together: Izabela Paszkiewicz, Beata Niemyjska, Sabina Jarząbek and Aleksandra Lisowska. In the end, after a very strong finish, Aleksandra Lisowska became the Polish Champion with a time of 1:13:19. Izabela Paszkiewicz was second in 1:13:47. Beata Niemyjska crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 1:15:14.
I am not in my best shape, but today the Polish Championship medal was what mattered, and I achieved that goal. I could not have expected anything more from myself today. I won this race with my heart. I am very happy to be here and to experience this atmosphere and everything that is happening here.

Objectively, this is not the fastest half marathon course in Poland. But Krystian Zalewski showed that when you are in great shape, records can be broken here. I feel positive and ready to fight. I wanted to come back here because I remember the great atmosphere of the Gdynia Half Marathon.

A Fast 5 Kilometres
Even before the start of the main race, athletes competing over 5,000 metres lined up at Skwer Kościuszki. This year’s course ran through the streets of the city, with runners passing along Świętojańska Street and Piłsudskiego Street, among others. This year, for the first time in the history of the Gdynia event, there were more women than men on the course – 57 percent. However, it was the men who crossed the finish line first: Arkadiusz Gardzielewski from Warsaw (00:14:55), Szymon Kopczyński from Gdańsk (00:15:38), and Sebastian Marcol from Gaszowice (00:15:44).
The course was definitely difficult, because if you run along Świętojańska Street in Gdynia, the course has to be hard. But I am very happy that I started here and won. I expected the wind to be more troublesome, but it was not that bad.
Arkadiusz Gardzielewski – winner of the PKO Gdynia 5K
The first woman to appear at the finish line on the City Beach was Natalia Włazałek from Pilawa. Natalia needed 18 minutes and 27 seconds to complete the five-kilometre distance.
I am extremely proud of myself. It is not my personal best, but the satisfaction is huge. It was worth it. I handled this course well, I have run harder ones. But when you believe in yourself, no course is difficult.
Natalia Włazałek – winner of the women’s category in the PKO Gdynia 5K

In the oldest age group, 13 to 14 years, the first athlete to cross the finish line was Iwo Gołyszny, representing the Gdynia club Active Flow. In the 11 to 12 age group, Marcel Frankowski from Lelice claimed victory. The winner in the 9 to 10 age group was also from Lelice. It was Kacper Frankowski.

The Mayor of Gdynia, Aleksandra Kosiorek, who accompanied the athletes at the finish line throughout the day, said during the event that promoting a healthy lifestyle is one of the city’s strategies.
Mass participation sport is important to us, and the people of Gdynia like to run. But organising events such as the PKO Gdynia Half Marathon also has a real impact on the city’s economy. We have very high occupancy in hotels and restaurants. The city centre stays lively much longer than on a normal day.
Aleksandra Kosiorek – Mayor of Gdynia
